# MyPreferredSources

> A free, no-account tool that generates a copy-paste HTML button. The button deep-links a publisher's readers to Google's source-preferences tool (google.com/preferences/source?q=<domain>) so they can add the site as a "preferred source" — making its articles eligible for a "preferred" badge in Top Stories, AI Mode, and AI Overviews. Everything runs client-side; there is no backend, account, or fee.

## What it does
- [Button generator](https://mypreferredsources.com/): Enter a website URL, style the button, and copy the HTML. Google's official JavaScript button (its recommended, auto-localized embed) comes first; then our deeplink styles — Google's official badge image, a co-branded custom button (your favicon + site name + a Google trust mark), a stacked App-Store-style badge, and a floating corner button.
- Validates eligibility in the browser: preferred sources work at the domain/subdomain level only (paths and a leading "www." are stripped; IP addresses and localhost are rejected).
