Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MyPreferredSources, the website at mypreferredsources.com(the “Site”) and the button-generator tool it provides (the “Service”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Who we are

The Site is operated by NEXT MARKETING TECHNOLOGY LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14384054), with its registered office at Flat 1, 25 Daleham Gardens, London, England, NW3 5BY. In these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to that company.

What the Service is

MyPreferredSources is a free tool. You enter your website address and the Site generates a copy-paste HTML button. That button deep-links your readers to Google’s public source-preferences page (google.com/preferences/source), where they can choose to add your site as a preferred source in Google Search surfaces such as Top Stories, AI Mode, and AI Overviews. The tool runs entirely in your browser; there is no account to create.

Not affiliated with Google

Google, Google Search, and Top Stories are trademarks of Google LLC. MyPreferredSources is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google. The buttons we generate are built using Google’s publicly documented source-preferences deeplink format. We do not control, and cannot guarantee, how Google’s products behave, how preferred-source selections are used, or whether your site appears in any particular result. Your readers’ interactions on Google’s own pages are governed by Google’s terms and policies, not ours.

Permitted use

You may use the Service to generate buttons for websites you own or are authorised to represent, and you may place the generated code on your own web properties. You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purpose;
• misrepresent your relationship to a website, or generate buttons for a site you have no right to promote;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Site or its underlying systems;
• use the Service in any way that infringes the rights of others or that would bring us or Google into disrepute.

The code you generate

You are free to use, modify, and host the button code the Service produces for your own legitimate purposes. You are solely responsible for where and how you place that code, for the website it is placed on, and for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws and any third-party terms (including Google’s). The custom button references an externally hosted favicon image; if that image is unavailable, the button may render without it.

Intellectual property

The Site’s design, text, graphics, and original code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Apart from the button code that the Service is designed to give you to use, nothing in these Terms grants you any right in our branding or content. All third-party trademarks — including Google’s — remain the property of their respective owners.

Third-party links and services

The Site links to and relies on third-party services, including Google’s source-preferences page and Google’s public favicon service. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that the generated code will achieve any particular result, or that adding your site as a preferred source will affect your visibility in Google’s products in any specific way.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

Changes to the Service and these Terms

Because the Service is free, we may modify, suspend, or discontinue it (in whole or in part) at any time without liability. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer-protection laws give you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
